At the Berlin Fashion Week, Danny Reinke showcased his Spring/Summer 2025 collection during the COLLECTIVE FOUR event. Titled "Stupid Cupid," this collection is a tribute to the emotional turmoil of unrequited love. This prêt-à-couture line represents a rollercoaster of emotions through both women's and men's looks, exploring the contradictions of hopeless infatuation—where what is close feels distant and desire is paradoxically ignited by rejection. The designs may appear romantically playful at first glance, but a closer look reveals the deep-seated pain of unreturned love.
The collection is inspired by a song from the late 1950s by singer Connie Francis. Despite its lively tune, the song speaks of a love that seems forever out of reach—a crush accompanied more by sorrow and anger than by the hoped-for comfort and happiness.

The heart of this emotional SS25 collection is a vibrant array of red tones in various shades. Combined with gray, black, white, and lime green, the contrasting color palette is particularly striking in the use of flowing fabrics. Key elements include meticulously crafted corsets, symbolizing the emptiness and confinement of heartbreak. Just like the collection's title, other references to the 1950s are integral, featuring pussy-bow blouses, pencil skirts, and voluminous tulle petticoats. These elements are paired with tuxedo shirts for a modern dandy look, completed with suspenders, sock garters, and Spencer jackets. Recycled leather adds a touch of toughness and durability, blending seamlessly with intricate drapery that subtly nods to the Greco-Roman antiquity and its mythological love god, Cupid. Tangled, three-dimensional floral structures on a pure white jacket evoke a sense of chaos, while crochet elements add a playful twist to the contrast between appearance and reality.
COLLECTIVE FOUR is an official part of Berlin Fashion Week, supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises in collaboration with the Fashion Council Germany.
