The Jaguar Type 00 is a striking concept car that reflects the brand’s ambitions for a bold, electric-only future. With its „Exuberant Modernism“ philosophy, Jaguar aims to fuse artistic design with cutting-edge EV technology, embodying the ethos of „Copy Nothing.“ This concept is part of Jaguar’s transformation to target younger, luxury-focused customers looking for an electric alternative to brands like Bentley or Rolls-Royce.
The Type 00’s design cues include a dramatic fastback profile, a long bonnet, and 23-inch alloy wheels. Heritage symbols like the iconic leaper logo, now laser-etched into brass ingots, tie back to Jaguar’s storied past. The concept debuted in two bespoke colors: Miami Pink, reflecting Art Deco vibrancy, and London Blue, symbolizing Jaguar’s British roots.
In interviews, Jaguar’s design leadership emphasized their commitment to pushing creative boundaries. Professor Gerry McGovern, Jaguar’s Chief Creative Officer, described the car as „the foundation stone for a new family of Jaguars,“ aiming to blend luxury, performance, and sustainability. The Type 00 also showcases innovative features like butterfly doors and an interior spine of brass that reflects a craftsmanship ethos.
Expected to serve as a precursor to Jaguar’s future lineup, the production version of the Type 00 will debut in 2025. Built on Jaguar’s new Electric Architecture, it targets an impressive range of 770 km WLTP, with ultra-fast charging capabilities.
